FAQS

The CAPP Service-Learning Center at the University of Idaho strives to promote service-learning as an integral aspect of education and to foster university engagement  within the larger community.  We provide services, resources, and support to students, student organizations, faculty, and staff desiring to participate in or organize community service and service-learning experiences.

During the 2008-2009 academic year, more than 1,900 students enrolled in 87 service-learning courses and provided over 100,000 hours of service.  Service-learning courses are available in numerous colleges and are offered at the UI’s Moscow, Coeur d’Alene, and Idaho Falls campuses.

Nearly 160 community agencies opened their doors to give students the opportunity to apply classroom learning in the real world, develop and practice the skills of citizenship, and explore how they (as students) can be active agents in producing social change.

We thank our community partners, who have demonstrated a flexible willingness to work with student volunteers in a way that allows students to both learn and serve, and our students, who have embraced the opportunity to make a difference as they learn through service-learning.
